Life..

Life is so mysterious.. everyday in the morning as soon as u wake up, its packed in a beautifully wrapped gift box.. Until the time you sleep.. Things keep popping out from that box.. most strange and weird things included!!

My experience in a new business world.. Hospitals!!! (Part2)

(Go through Part1 before reading this!)

My sincere thanks to my friend Shubham who accompanied me in cab for the 34 km drive home. After reaching, fell at the doorstep at once.. With my mom's support, got up and slept on bed. Tried drinking water, but there was a vomit again. This time, it was a blood vomit. It was then that i could not resist from asking my mom that i have to be admitted in some hospital right now and told her this is not just fever.. I guess those were the last words i remember when i was at home. I could not remember anything that happened further except feeling the pain of blood vomits.. I was almost unconscious while my neighbours got me and admitted in the hospital nearby.. It was evening 5 by then. i was given saline and injections for every 5 min. After sometime, was sent in a car to some other center and many tests were done there and then brought back.. Dont remember what time it was but got up hearing the loud cries and shouts outside. Was not having atleast that strength to ask what happened. It was then that my doc(i can say he was the best among the ones i came across till date in terms of doing his job) came up to me, patted me on my head, stayed close and whispered.. "Geetha, you will be moved to a bigger hospital now.. We dont have proper medication. Nothing to worry. I will come and visit you there tomorrow morning. Just dont think anything and keep telling whatever is happening with you".

The way he told everything was very soothing but when i saw that almost all the people of my apartment reached this hospital, a shiver of panic ran through me. Whats going on? Why am i moved? Was it for me that people shouted or cried outside? Somebody.. please tell me.. Had so many questions to ask but no strength to open my mouth. I could hear my doc shouting at phone. When concentrated, i could understand that he was speaking to someone from Apollo Hospitals, vikrampuri to arrange a bed for me in ICU. After hearing the number 23000, they said they could not and he was yelling at that person to atleast try!! The process continued.. He called one more branch of Apollo, It was the same reply from there. Few uncles started giving few hospital names (after I was rejected to get admitted in Apollo hospitals cause my chances of survival were less!!!) ..

Finally, Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad has accepted to arrange an ICU bed for me and at night 10 in a heavy rain, i was moved there. As soon as i reached, they gave me a bed in General ICU, took my blood sample and returned after sometime saying that there were no beds available then!! After sleeping for 20 min on a bed, that was their reply!! Finally, when we were about to move to some other hospital, they handed the report of blood platelets to my uncle which declined to 19000 in just an hour and a half..(May be this was the major reason for not finding a bed). With no doc around, the search for a hospital started again in the car. My uncle, whose friend was a cardiologist in Mediciti Hospitals, secretariat, finally could arrange a bed from the next morning in MICU. Till then, i was to stay in the GICU. I was shifted there immediately and within an hour, platelets were given! As promised, was moved to MICU the next day and finally, was given proper treatment and then discharged.. Later i got to know from my first doc that i was suffering from Dengue and there were so many deaths because of the late diagnosis!!

Now i dont understand one thing here.
If there was no uncle present there with whose friend's recommendation i got a bed(these guys of Mediciti atleast accepted to try arranging a seperate bed for me in GICU), one more hour would have passed and my platelet count would have been dropped to 16000 (Minimum should be 1,50,000) resulting in coma and now today, i would not be here writing this post!

Who is to blame in this issue?
My family doc and Apollo clinic doc who gave me a wrong diagnosis? OR
Apollo hospitals which refused to take me as an inpatient? OR
Yashoda hospitals who threw me away after taking my blood test OR
Mediciti who gave me admission only after a recommendation!!

If it was for a VIP, would they arrange another bed somewhere and treat or let him die there??

Saving a human's life is the most divine thing.. That is what hospitals are meant for.. But are all these SUPER SPECIALITY hospitals meant for the same cause? Its all business all over.. Such sacred job is now a money making job. Not just this, there were so many incidents like these.. I am just an example of the misfortune state our Medical systems are running!

P.S: This is MY experience and my personal view. May be the doctors, hospitals are the best in world. But this is truely what happened with me..

My experience in a new business world.. Hospitals!!! (Part1)

It was Sept 6, 2010. I was using medicines for viral fever prescribed by my family doc. Having felt better that morning, reached campus on time but could not even walk or atleast stand after getting down from the bus. There was a sudden start of stomach ache severely which i never experienced before. Since there were few friends of mine staying in the campus, reached one of their rooms to sleep for sometime.. As the time passed, i could literally see hell. Felt like something or somebody is playing with my body with every body part paining to the extreme level.. Everything looked so glared and fuzzy!! Felt as though life was leaving me!!!! Gathered all the strength i had and got up.. my body was like a heated pan!Walked towards the door and started walking towards ECC. God knows which part of my brain or heart suggested to trust the Apollo Clinic there..

Again, there was a hell of wait there.. Could not sit, stand.. was falling down.. Could not even eat or drink from the previous night and it showed it's effect as well!! Finally got my call from the doc.. Her assistant checked my BP and Temperature.. "Its 104" she said. I tried to tell her my symptoms.. The lady not even having touched me, asked to call up my mom and name all the tabs i was using from past 2 days for viral fever. After listening, she recommended to use the same tablets and thats it!! It was done!! No check up, No test, Nothing!! I was done.. Summary of this appointment was to find out whether the medicines i was using were good or not!!! Oh god.. i was going to fall down.. She then asked me to have some juice and then those tablets. She then forwarded a medical leave for the next 3 days to the HR and asked me to go home and rest.. Atleast something useful was done there..! With difficulty reached OFC and ordered Chikoo and mango juices. After having half of the first juice, there was a vomit and with unbearable pain. Took up my phone, called the Orange cabs and booked a cab then.

The three hour drama of my hospitalization.. Continued in Part2

P.S: This is MY experience and my personal view. May be the doctors, hospitals are the best in world. But this is truely what happened with me..

Journey as an Infoscion- II

Am i having a dream? Has somebody kidnapped me when i got into Qualis and got me to the United States? What am i supposed to do now? Before my mind could think further, the other girls along with me in the cab started speaking about the campus which kinda comforted me.. It was then that i realized that i was in the World's top training Centre. The roads were the finest i have seen. No sign of any waste.. not even a single tiny paper. Both the sides of the roads had footpaths and next to footpath, grass, trees.. it was amazing!!

Journey as an Infoscion- I

It was 7 AM, Mysore. Roads entirely deserted. The cab in which I started to kick start my career, my first job, was cutting through the cool breezes and speeding towards Hootagalli. No Traffic, no sign of pollution, very less human appearances, highly sloped roads.. probably I was having one of my best morning rides. As we neared, heart began to pound- reason not known till date!Probably for the excitement of reaching my workplace alone or a new city all alone without parents for the first time. Cant say which reason weighed more..

As I reached, there were already students.. oopss.. sorry.. very near future infoscions sitting in a row of chairs in a disciplined manner. Never knew this discipline standards would increase to an infinite level at that point of time. It was finally 8 AM. A security personnel made an announcement to get ready with the passport, offer letter originals and a copy. Well it was a bit difficult to carry all the luggage at once to the gate.. but my eyes were searching for the sight of campus more than to submit the passport etc. Once done with the formalities, we were sent inside, where again we had to form a queue with our medical certificate in hand. Now.. these preceeding 3, 4 minutes were probably the most memorable moments for my eyes…

There stood, India’s largest post-independence built building before us – GEC 2. I have seen many pics of this building but that, now stood right in front of me. Awestruck, mesmerized with the build, unbelievable, proud, whatever I felt then can not be expressed in words. The greenery, flowers and a huge .. (when I say huge, I really mean it.. ) arena in front of it, added to its beauty. We were then sent to the underground level where we were given a temporary ID card and I was given a Blue tag with it. Later I came to know that we would be grouped to 7 such colored groups when in training and there would be competitions among these groups.. At last, I was given a room key with the block number and room number written on it....!!

I, then, dint know that i was holding my heavenly home for the next 5 months in my hand. Before i could give any further thought, my luggage was placed into one truck and me in a Qualis..

C-LIFE

DOJ in Feb next year???? Are they really going to call? Oh dear, you are wasting your time..!! Why don’t you try out in other companies? Just mail me your resume, I will help you in getting a job.. blah blah so many questions, so many suggestions in the ten months time I have spent at my home in Hyderabad after my B.tech exams.

Infosys, was one such company which held to its Promise and morals of issuing offer letters with “Genuine” dates of joining even in Recession. It was at this time where many so called Top Indian companies hid themselves from the candidates they have chosen during the campus placements. While all the companies were busy in Cost Cutting, We, who got selected for Infy got our DOJs very much earlier. As a matter of this fact, I can proudly say, that im an Infoscion since Feb 8, 2010..

In the further posts, I would love to share my days as a Myfoscion (Infoscion working at Mysore DC)
